A Nigerian biotechnology venture, built for African healthcare

Biometronyx Ltd is a Nigerian biotechnology venture dedicated to transforming diagnostic healthcare across Africa through the local production of clinical chemistry reagents.

01Who we are

Our journey began from a simple but urgent observation: hospitals across Nigeria routinely experience interruptions in patient testing due to the high cost, limited availability, and supply-chain instability of imported diagnostic reagents. At tertiary hospitals, routine lipid-profile testing can be delayed for days or even suspended entirely when imported products become unavailable.

We believe that no patient should have to wait for a diagnosis because a consumable is stuck at a port or affected by foreign exchange fluctuations.

Biometronyx is developing validated, quality-controlled lipid-profile reagents designed specifically for African laboratory conditions. Our initial focus is Total Cholesterol and the broader lipid panel, with a long-term vision of expanding into a full portfolio of clinical chemistry and diagnostic products.

02Where we work

Made in Enugu, delivered nationwide

Manufacturing in Enugu, Nigeria puts our reagents inside the same market that uses them. Nothing clears a port, nothing is priced in a foreign currency, and nothing waits weeks on a shipping schedule.

03Our story

It started as a conversation about missing reagents

Biometronyx was founded by scientists and healthcare professionals who have experienced firsthand the consequences of diagnostic interruptions in Nigerian hospitals.

What started as a conversation about missing reagents has evolved into a mission to build a globally competitive African biotechnology company. Our founders believe that Africa should not rely entirely on imported diagnostic consumables for routine healthcare.

We are not simply manufacturing reagents—we are building the infrastructure, talent, and trust needed to support the next generation of African biotechnology.
